I’m Back and I’m Better!

Hey y’all! The last few months have been a whirlwind! I took a step back from writing to refocus on exactly what I specifically wanted my blog to focus on and then my grandmother became ill. Professionally, it’s been absolutely nuts at work with lots of transitions, new people, and process changes.

In the midst of all of this, I have not been consistent with working out or with my nutrition! ??‍♀️ This has led to me gaining some weight, feeling tired, and certainly emotionally overwhelmed. I made a decision to take a step back, regain control, and do what I know I need to.

I’ve remained in gratitude for this experience because I know it’s not just for me and that any sacrifices I have made weren’t in vain. My grandmother is now in rehab and turned 90 last week. Things have calmed down at work. I’ve set my gym goals, and I’m back in there tonight! ??

We get one body and it’s our temple. Take care of it. Take time for YOU. Mental Health Awareness Month is coming to an end, but your mental health should always be a priority. I realize that if I don’t take care of me, I can’t be any good to anyone else. If I want to reach my goals and see my vision come into fruition, I’ve got to be in optimal shape mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The same applies to you!

Below I’ve listed five things that have helped me to get back to better!

1. REST – Go to bed. Don’t overextend yourself.

2. HYDRATE- This does not need explanation. Water, water, water!

3. Eat WELL- I love sweets. I love carbs. But they aren’t good for my goals or health.

4. MEDITATE- Pray. Write. Burn some sage.

5. SEPARATE- Remove yourself from anything or anyone that drains or distracts you. (Use that block button honey!)

Bonus: LOVE all of yourself with EVERYTHING you’ve got! ?
